Digital agency 9xb.com has struck a deal with the Post Office to develop a bespoke online system to assist the creation of Post Office Locals across the country.

The government has committed £1.34bn funding for the restructure

The government has committed £1.34bn to restructuring the post office network and Harrogate-based 9xb.com plans to have a digital system up and running by April to allow thousands of subpostmasters to apply for funding to cover the costs of converting to the new style.

Simon Blake of 9xb.com commented: "This latest assignment for the Post Office has to be delivered within a very tight timescale and our expertise in this type of digital development has therefore been particularly useful. The online forms have been designed with ease of use in mind and a bespoke automated process will analyse the data, significantly reducing the time needed to manually review and approve each application."

The project will benefit from the previous experience of the agency's technical team from work with clients such as Total Gas and Power, having created a web-based process as part of their CRC efficiency scheme. Around 11,000 applications for funding are expected by the Post Office.
