Vue Entertainment has unveiled a free monthly film magazine to engage and excite cinema goers across the UK, with the first issue scheduled for release on Friday 8 March across 70 Vue site foyers in the UK and Ireland.

Entitled ‘Vue’, the magazine will be published by Publicis Blueprint and launches with a distribution of 200,000 copies, audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC). The magazine aims to provide film buffs with a mixture of exclusive news, interviews and previews about all of the latest and upcoming releases.

Michael Kalli, head of sales & advertising at Vue, commeted: “We are really excited to be rewarding our loyal customers with a quality magazine to keep them up to date with all of the latest action from on and off of the screen. It’s important to us that we create a premium publication to match the quality content inside.

“We are confident that we will reach a mass audience within our cinemas and are looking forward to working with our distribution partners to bring the very best entertainment and news.”

The first issue of Vue will be supported by Disney with an interactive front cover offering readers a chance to win a ‘money can’t buy’ family trip to Australia using blippar augmented reality technology, promoting its forthcoming release Oz The Great and Powerful.

Film critic, feature writer and former deputy editor of Film4.com Richard Luck will act as editorial consultant on the launch, with his experience and entertainment insight being used to provide the right balance of exclusives and in-depth features.

Of his involvement Luck said: “It’s great to be involved in the development of the new Vue magazine. From looking at the latest releases and projects to talking to the biggest names of the past, present and future, we want our title to celebrate, investigate and laugh both with and, occasionally, at this wonderful thing we call film.”
