Magnum engages to manage #GrabaSpoon Twitter promotion

Luxury ice-cream brand Magnum has announced it has appointed Limited to manage the couponing element of the brands new social media campaign, #GrabaSpoon.

To promote Magnum’s new Pleasure Pots, @MagnumUK Twitter followers are invited to Tweet an image of themselves with any spoon plus the hashtags #GrabaSpoon and #ad to be in with a chance of winning money off coupons.

From today (Monday 11 February) the first 5,000 Tweeters will automatically receive a private message from Magnum offering £1 off Magnum Pleasure Pots to be redeemed at any major retailer.

“We’re eagerly anticipating the launch of the #GrabaSpoon promotion, which celebrates the fact that consumers can indulge in their favourite ice cream in a different way; with a spoon. Social media users will be rewarded by their engagement with the brand and we’re hoping this will give a great boost to sales,” said marketing manager at Unilever for Magnum Pleasure Pots, Anna Spray.

The #GrabaSpoon activity is part of a wider social media launch campaign for the brand run by holistic communications agency, GolinHarris.

Oliver Felstead, UK managing director at Limited, added: “Research indicates that over half (55 per cent) would buy a product not normally on their shopping list if a coupon is available. It is a pleasure to work with them [Magnum] on this innovative Twitter campaign to provide pleasure-filled experiences and promotions to engage their target consumers.”

One lucky entrant will also win a year’s supply of Magnum Pleasure Pots and a custom-made engraved spoon. Magnum
