Walgreens announces $240m media planning and buying review
American retailer Walgreens has announced that it is set to review its media planning and buying account, worth an estimated $240m.
Publicis Groupe's Starcom, the incumbent agency, has been invited to pitch as part of the process.
A spokesperson told AdAge: “The reason we are inviting agencies for a review is that it has been 10 years since we’ve formally gone through this process for media planning and buying.”
TV, radio, print, out-of-home and digital media will be covered by the account, although newspaper circulars will not, it has been suggested.
The pharmacy brand hopes to have the pitch process completed and an agency appointed by April.
