Digital agency Equator has revealed that it grew its revenue by over 20 per cent last year to over £8 million, and claims to be on course to reach £10 million in 2013.

The agency is currently in the midst of global expansion plans, with its first office abroad opening in New York, while it has also said that it is in talks towards a possible joint-venture in Eastern Europe to meet web development demand in the region.

Another element of the expansion will see the agency recruit 15 new members of staff across affiliate marketing, SEO, PPC, web design and social departments, which will take it beyond the 100 employee mark.

John McLeish, managing director, described 2012 as ‘”another exceptional year for the business” claiming that despite a squeeze on marketing budgets, businesses were continuing to recognise the importance of digital investment.

Equator currently works with brands such as Tesco Bank, SSE, Disney and AXA.
