ŠKODA UK launches new family car with a 'Thanks Dad' Facebook app featuring The Axis of Awesome

ŠKODA UK has teamed up with Australian musical comedy act, The Axis of Awesome, to offer Facebook users a fun and easy way to thank their dads at Christmas and celebrate the release of its new family car, ŠKODA Rapid.

Sitting with in the ŠKODA UK Facebook page, the ‘Thanks Dad’ app, developed by ais London, allows sons and daughters to create a personalised music video for their dad by answering a series of simple questions.

The app creates the personalised video with tailored lyrics from The Axis of Awesome depending on the answers provided. The videos can then be emailed to the user’s dad and shared online.

The ‘Thanks Dad’ campaign was devised by Fallon London, with media buying that includes two significant media partnerships with MSN and Smooth Radio handled by MediaCom London.

National communications manager for ŠKODA UK, commented: “To celebrate the launch of the ŠKODA Rapid, our new family car, we wanted to come up with a way to reward and celebrate the unsung heroes of the family.

“Many of our customers are superstar dads, providing sound advice and a year-round taxi service amongst many other things, so we wanted to help kids thank their dads for everything they do.”
