Sony Computer Entertainment-owned gaming system Playstation3 has revealed its new cross-platform campaign from 180 Amsterdam designed to make the PS3 the games console of choice for families this Christmas.

The ‘Family Day Out’ TV advertisement, directed by Ben Dawkins, is set in a fantasy fairground highlights the immersive world of PS3. Arriving at the fairground the family tours the entertainment stalls with each family member exploring their own interactive experiences, demonstrating the proposition that PS3 offers “a world of endless family fun”.

The advert directly references the variety of entertainment and gaming experiences available on the platform, such as Sports Champions 2, and Wonderbook, in a bid to underline the promise that PS3 brings the family together regardless of interest and tastes.

The TV ad is supported by a print execution aimed at mums inviting them to visit the Playstation family site to discover and learn more about the consoles features and offers. A separate digital creative will also run incorporating elements of both the TV and print works.

Al Moseley, executive creative director at 180 Amsterdam, commented: “With a world of gaming and entertainment titles, this campaign for PlayStation 3 takes a unique take on play, igniting the imagination of our audience to discover a range of new experiences as a family.”

The campaign will run from December until the end of the year across the UK & Ireland, Poland, Austria, Russia, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
