London based PR firm John Doe has officially launched its New York office, after securing its first client win in the US market, illy Coffee.

Headed by Adam Thomas, the former Gglobal head of public relations for Vertu, and global publicity director Meena Khera, the office will support projects for a range of clients; including W Hotels, Pernod Ricard, and the production company In-House Series.

The office will also manage pro-bono cultural content for the office of his holiness the Dalai Lama.

John Doe founder Rana Reeves commented: "In founding John Doe it was my desire to bring a new breed of agency to the marketplace that marries brands with popular culture in a way that is more connected and relevant than previous agency models. For me it is about delivering stand out campaigns that make a difference both to a brand's bottom line and to its customer’s perception. Our New York expansion will help us realise our ambition of truly maximising global culture for brands.

John Doe is the perfect marriage between creativity and process and I am confident our approach will be refreshing to the US. To say I am excited this is being realised is an understatement. illy is already proving to be a partnership client which understands the need for, and value to be created in, cultural brand conversations!”
