Trinity Mirror has refuted claims of phone hacking as it sees its share slide by around 10 per cent as a result.

The publisher, which will face legal action from four people; former England football manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati, former nannie to the Beckhams, Abbie Gibson, and former Blackburn Rovers captain Garry Flitcroft, has denied the claims of their legal representative Mark Lewis over phone hacking at the Daily Mirror.

The statement read; “We note the allegations made against us by Mark Lewis in today's papers.

“We have not yet received any claims nor have we been provided with any substantiation for those claims.

“As we have previously stated, all our journalists work within the criminal law and the Press Complaints Commission Code of Conduct.”
