talkSPORT has extended its partnership with radio app and website, TuneIn by signing a multi-year agreement to broadcast Barclays Premier League games to fans outside Europe for free.

TuneIn users will now have easy access to talkSPORT Live’s full commentary of all 380 Barclays Premier League games per season along with key FA Cup matches. The UTV Media station signed on as a TuneIn content partner in February this year, and the new deal sees games become available free-of-charge to anyone outside of the European Economic Area with and internet connection through the TuneIn service.

CEO of talkSPORT, Scott Taunton, commented: “The Barclays Premier League has a huge global following and we’ve seen huge audiences for our content from the USA to Malaysia, with the USA as our number one market for traffic. TuneIn are a natural partner for us and I’m delighted to be working with them.”

The new service forms part of a wider international strategy for the broadcaster which saw talkSPORT agree to a deal with the Premier League for an exclusive package of international audio broadcasting rights.

TuneIn CEO, John Donham, added: “For the first time, soccer fans from around the world can listen to all the action without missing a play. We believe everyone should be able to enjoy this premium programming for free, so every game, story and interview will be streamed at no cost across all of our products.

“Our vision at TuneIn is to bring all the world’s audio to everyone so they can instantly connect with the sports, music and news that inspires them.”
