North Wales police have charged two people after they named the 19 year-old woman who was raped by Sheffield United footballer Ched Evans.

Dominic Green, 23, and Alexandra Hewitt, 24, were arrested following what North Wales police described as the offence of publishing a matter likely to lead members of the public to identify the complainant in a rape case.

The ongoing investigation has involved 17 people who have made comments about the woman, who is legally entitled to anonymity for life, on the social media site. Nine people were arrested in May whilst a 51 year-old man was arrested on August 27 and will answer bail in the coming weeks.

Speaking to the BBC Jim Brisbane, chief crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service in Wales, commented: "We have completed reviews in relation to a number of the suspects under investigation".

"Both have been charged by North Wales Police and bailed to appear before Prestatyn Magistrates' Court on 5 November."
