Marketing company 2020 has acquired Sheffield creative agency Iris Associates for an undisclosed sum.

Iris Associates was founded in 1991 by David Wood and Maria Vardy, who will now become joint managing directors of brand communications at 2020.

The agency itself will be rolled into 2020's existing operation in Sheffield.

Martin Boddy, chief executive of 2020, said: "This acquisition makes a huge amount of sense for both parties. It considerably strengthens both our Brand Communications proposition and our Sheffield operation.

"This is great news for our people and for ambitious marketing teams, particularly those based in the north of England, who are looking for a well resourced, forward thinking and committed agency partner.”

2020's parent company, WEARE 2020 plc, also announced today that it would be launching a specialist consulting firm dubbed 2020 Consulting to stand alongside its marketing business.
