McVitie’s gears up for Halloween with launch of limited edition cakes branded by CHILLI UK

McVitie’s Cake Company has launched a Halloween and Bonfire Night limited edition cake product, taking advantage of the growing demand for seasonal cakes.

Working with brand consultancy CHILLI UK, the brand developed the Spooky Sour Cake Bar packaging which reflects the product consisting of purple sponge topped with sour blackcurrant jam and covered in dark chocolate.

Dominica Rennard, group brand manager at McVitie’s Cake Company commented on the new product: “Cake still remains one of the fastest growing Halloween categories of which McVitie’s holds an 18% share. This, coupled with the increase in the number of people holding their own bonfire spectaculars, make these seasonal occasions’ key sales opportunities for retailers”.
