Travel Counsellors selects Vibe to create 'dream' social media campaign

Travel Counsellors, the global independent travel company, has appointed brand agency Vibe to create a social media campaign around the theme of ‘capturing and sharing dreams.’

The brief included the development of a Facebook app which would enhance consumer engagement and drive recruitment based on the concept of ‘realising dreams’. This concept was based on Travel Counsellors’ survey into ‘dream destination’ holidays, which revealed that only 30 per cent of respondents had experienced their dream trip.

The Dream Maker Facebook app has therefore aimed to enable users to create and share dream holidays by uploading images with an accompanying description. Each upload will enter the ‘dream-maker’ (creator) into a £10,000 competition where they can win their dream holiday.

The Dream Maker Facebook app has attracted more than 9,000 visits and the dedicated page has recorded a weekly reach of 6,117, spanning the US, Australia, South Africa and Canada as well as a number of European destinations.

Commenting on the campaign, Steve Byrne, managing director of Travel Counsellors, said: “We feel the Dream Maker campaign captures our ethos as an organisation built on the value of exceptional relationships on a global level, as opposed to a purely transactional service.

“By connecting to the emotional element of holidays we have inspired Facebook users to unleash their dreams, and we look forward to making the dream a reality for one lucky winner.”
