British Sky Broadcasting has expanded its relationship with FreeWheel, the video technology company, as it launches the Revenue and Payments Management (RPM) Advertiser system.

The technology was developed for entertainment companies, such as BSkyB, with complex financial operations and cross-platform advertising campaigns. It has allowed BSkyB to streamline their business advertising operations by tracking over and under-delivery of ad insertion orders, eliminating wasted hours of manually adjusted campaign fulfillment data and decreasing the likelihood of disputes with their advertisers and agencies.

In conjunction with this agreement, FreeWheel has also announced the integration of its RPM technology with ad server ADTECH and Oracle’s enterprise resource planning software.

Tim Hussain, head of platform development & partnerships at Sky, said: “Having been a FreeWheel customer for the past few years, it became clear that their focus on businesses like ours provides Sky with the tools to enable us to centralize and better streamline our operations. RPM Advertiser provides us with very powerful and flexible tools to add efficiency and cut costs associated with generating advertising revenue.”

Doug Knopper, co-CEO of FreeWheel also commented: “BSkyB is one of the companies leading the way internationally in bringing programming to consumers across devices and environments. We have had a very fruitful relationship with them through their use of our Monetization Rights Management system, and we are very excited to expand it to include RPM, enabling them to realize greater returns from minimizing the headaches involved with advertiser contract fulfillment at scale.”
