McCann’s has announced the promotion of Neil Bannister to creative director in McCann Birmingham and the hire of Steve Hollyoak as MD for McCann Digital.

Since joining, Bannister has generated creative content for clients including Persimmon, CarShop and Vauxhall.

Vince McSweeney, group executive creative director said: “Neil is the first person I've promoted to creative director since arriving here a year and a half ago. He’s been great for McCann; his focus, energy and talent have made a huge contribution to our success. In this new role, I'll be leveraging that focus, energy and talent even further to ensure our retail offering is second to none.”

Hollyoak has previously spent 11 years working client side in the roles of internet and brand director for HomeServe and prior to that, head of online marketing communications for Lloyds TSB.

He said: “McCann Birmingham is a stand-out agency, not just in the Midlands but throughout the UK, and so it’s a great opportunity to join at a time when digital is forming a major part of the growth agenda for the company as a whole.

“When you look at the work McCann Digital produces and the success it generates, it’s incredibly exciting. Clients are looking for their communications to work harder and deliver a greater return on investment and it’s the integrated offering of McCann Birmingham that leverages real value.”
