The sun has got his hat on, hip hip hooray! It looks like we’ve got an Indian summer to take us into the closing days of the Olympics and to finish off another week of cool content. In this kind of weather it’s always advisable to wear whatever’s comfortable, even if that’s just a pair of Speedos and boots. Which brings us nicely on to our first item of cool, if not a little cringey, content.

Advertising: Southern Comfort Whatever’s Comfortable

Wieden and Kennedy have done it again, and this time it’s for Southern Comfort. Sit back, relax, grab a Steamboat (Scouse for a SoCo and Lemonade) and enjoy this happy chappy strolling along the beach in nothing but his trunks and a paid of cowboy boots.

Animation: Batman Animation: Dark Knightfall

BATMAN : DARK KNIGHTFALL (HD full version) from Parabucks on Vimeo.

If you’ve not seen The Dark Knight Rises yet, you’re missing a trick. Having seen it in an IMAX last weekend I can vouch for its coolness. Although, this short animation might just be a little cooler. It brings to life a whole host of Batman figurines with a few surprises along the way. Very impressive. Now go and book yourself a seat in your local IMAX for the ride of your week.

Online: Real Time Instagram Feeds

Instagram. We love it don’t we? Blackberry users hate it, but they're only jealous they can’t have a go themselves. Some whizzkid has created the first live Instagram feed, categorised by city. London, New York, Sydney and more are there for you to feast your filter-loving eyes on. Cool.http://now.jit.su/

Advertising: Red Cross Blood Trade

The weekend wouldn’t be complete without a worthy cause. This neat campaign from the Red Cross lets users collect points to use in computer games for giving blood. A nifty little incentive to get your arm jabbed with a needle if ever there was one. Biscuits not included.

Stunt: Corelle Chip Resistant Plates

I can’t resist a good ambient stunt. This one is particularly cool. It’s always nice when a stunt simply take the USP of a product and stunts the heck out of it. This is a cool example of just that. I won’t spoil the surprise, but you will get the idea in a matter of one, two, DROP.

Design: Famous album covers recreated using socks

Ah socks. A foots favourite friend. They get a little neglected in the summer though, don’t they? Artist Thom Moore has put his neglected socks to good use and recreated some famous album covers using, yup, socks. They’re SOCKINGLY good, wouldn’t you agree? http://thesockcovers.tumblr.com/[via @vccp]
