The Camping and Caravanning Club has unveiled a campaign which aims to persuade holidaymakers to stop mentioning the indifferent weather.

Despite having the wettest April-to-June period on record, the Club aims to persuade the public to get ‘out and about’ in the good weather now while it lasts with its 'don't mention the weather' campaign.

Celebrity weatherman John Kettley, who is backing the campaign, said: “Britain has always had a varied climate but why should that stop people from holidaying at home? There are plenty of campsites, activities and attractions to experience – whether it’s wet or sunny - and all at an inexpensive cost.

“Over the next few months, I predict there’s going to be a torrent of camping activity across all areas of the country – regardless of the weather!”
