The IPA has announced the appointment of Claire Wood of Newhaven Communications as deputy chairman of the IPA’s Scottish Chairman’s Group.

Wood will work with chairman Murray Calder to ‘increase the skills, connections and clout of the Scottish advertising industry’, as well as to help tailor and adapt IPA initiatives and strategies to make them relevant for the Scottish industry.

She said: “Having lived in Scotland and worked for Scottish creative agencies for 16 years, I'm hugely proud of the imagination, innovation and impact of our work. I'm looking forward to helping Murray raise the profile of the creative industries both in Scotland and further afield."

Calder added: “I’m really pleased that Claire has agreed to take on the role of Deputy Chairman. She’s already made a big impact on the events programme in Scotland and I’m certain her boundless enthusiasm for the Scottish ad industry will help move the IPA agenda forwards."
