Compass Group, which operates catering outlets at Edinburgh Zoo, has unveiled the redesign of three kiosks with 442 Design.

The Gourmet Popcorn kiosk, the Sweetie Shop and the Big Griller BBQ follow the creation of the Grasslands Restaurant and Jungle Food Court.

Roy Westwood, head of innovation for sport, leisure and hospitality at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “Together with 442 Design, we have created another three innovative food and drink units, including what we believe to be the first Gourmet Popcorn kiosk at an outdoor visitor attraction. This will offer a range of four popcorns; salt, sweet, toffee and a range of guest flavours like wasabi.

“In addition to the Gibbon Gourmet Popcorn Kiosk we are also introducing the new Big Griller BBQ and the Sweetie Shop, named after Tian Tian (‘Sweetie’), the female giant panda. All three outlets are now open and we have introduced elements of humour and fun at each one to help create a more memorable environment as part of the visitor experience.”
