The inaugural shortlist for BIMA's Digital Hall of Fame has been unveiled, with the industry now able to vote online for the 20 individuals to be inducted.

Names on the 50 strong shortlist include Stephen Fry, The Guardian's editor Alan Rusbridger, the IAB's Guy Phillipson, Iain Dodsworth, founder of TweetDeck and Martha Lane Fox, the Government's digital adviser, amongst many others.

Justin Cooke, chairman of BIMA and CEO of Fortune Cookie, commented: "Britain has a wealth of digital talent, many of the key innovations in digital that the whole world takes for grated were created by this country. The UK Digital Hall of Fame will showcase this talent as well as inspire future generations to similar of greatness."

BIMA has worked alongside The Drum, Microsoft, Adobe, ad:tech London, Results International and Propel on the project, which through an online vote, will be narrowed down to a final 20 names.

Users can vote through the website for up to five of the individuals shortlisted, while Twitter can also be used to vote for another five.

The 20 successful individuals will be unveiled at the ad:tech on 19 September.

Voting for the Hall of Fame will close on 15 June.
