They may not figure as highly as ice cream and lollipops in the eyes of most but the humble mechanical elevator could become the subject of much salivating following the unveiling of the world’s first edible elevator.

The Willy Wonka like creation involved the installation of some 1,325 lick-able Jaffa Cakes by biscuit brand McVities into an otherwise unassuming London office block.

This is intended to get office workers taste buds tingling by letting them get up close and personal with their favourite tasty treats - by drooling on the walls during their short up and down journeys.

Philippa Tilley, Senior Brand Manager from McVitie¹s Jaffa Cakes, said: “We are all about bringing a bit more fun to life and this was the perfect way to get a little joy straight to stressed out office workers. We hope the lifts raise a smile, give people a taste for Jaffa Cakes and encourages them to go and buy a pack for the office.”

The appropriately named Mischief acted as the creative agency behind the zany scheme.
