Bored of your friends' Facebook updates? Demote them to acquaintances
How many of your Facebook friends do you actually care about? The social networking giant has now made it easier than ever to filter out posts from people you don't really know that well.
Last autumn Facebook introduced the Close Friends and Acquaintances lists to help users see more posts from the people they are interested in and fewer from those they aren't.
It has now introduced the new Acquaintances tool to make this even more straightforward.
Facebook engineer Jonathan Coens explained in a blog post: "When you add friends to your Acquaintances list they won’t be unfriended or notified. You’ll just see fewer of their posts in news feed."
