The Future Lions student advertising competition, hosted by AKQA in collaboration with the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, is seeking entries for 2012.

Winning concepts from the competition, which closes for entries at midday on 24 April, will be honoured at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this June.

Rei Inamoto, chief creative officer at AKQA, said: “There is no better start to a career in advertising than to win a Future Lion at Cannes. This challenge has gone on to launch the careers of world class students and give them a global platform to showcase their excellence in innovation and creativity. This year’s theme looks to find the future heroes who are able to ‘Answer the Call’.”

Last year, there were nearly 850 entries from across the globe for the competition, which challenges students to develop an idea for advertising a brand in a way that would not have been possible five years ago.
