Oddbins has unveiled its new ecommerce website, which allows consumers to browse wine by ‘mood’ and ‘style’ as well as by country.

The site, which aims to demystify wine for the public, suggests that Italian Gufo Bianco 2010 is perfect while watching Clint Eastwood, listening to Ennio Morricone, thinking about heading west or eating Spaghetti Vongole.

Ayo Akintola, the managing director of Oddbins, said: “Ecommerce is an extremely important part of the new Oddbins going forward. The design and content of the new website is very much in keeping with the Oddbins philosophy of making wine as accessible as possible for consumers. We hope that customers find our new website as fun to visit as going into one of our stores.”

Music/wine matches the website suggests include:

Montemar Malbec 2011 –Taylor Swift

Grange Des Roc Blancs 2009 - Elbow

Granit Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2012 – The Black Keys

Macon-Villages 2010 Cave De Lugny – Alison Krauss

Pinot Grigio Trecolli – Express Yourself

Stonerock Sauvignon Blanc 2010 – Talking Heads
