Ardaich, a water product formulated to complement whisky, has unveiled its first augmented reality campaign, created by Realise Digital using Aurasma.

The first of the adverts ran in the December issue of Whisky Magazine.

Ruairidh Henderson, director of Ardaich, said: "Realise was able to create an extra dimension to our traditional media advertising campaign. The result was quite exceptional, an interactive advertisement capable of drawing our target consumers into the moment. Leaving them with a lasting impression of our brand."

Don Smith, creative director of Realise, added: "Aurasma is rapidly transforming the digital landscape. This is the beginning of truly integrated marketing; the breadth of content and interactivity we can now deliver is astounding. Many clients are still viewing this as a gimmick or novelty, but when you explore the possibilities of AR you soon begin to realise that this and similar technologies are here to stay. Smartphone usage has reached almost saturation within only a few years. My view is by the end of 2012 we'll see AR integration in everyday use."
