Greggs creates new character to promote Blueberry Burst Doughnut

High street bakery Greggs has unveiled a new character who will promote its new flavour of doughnuts, Blueberry Burst.

The new doughnut will join the previous range launched last September, which were promoted through their own YouTube and individual Twitter pages.

To promote the launch, 500,000 buy-one-get-one-free vouchers will be made available through the company’s official Facebook page.

A spokesperson for Greggs, said: “The original superstar doughnuts sold 1.4million in their first five weeks after launching in September and we wanted to add to the successful range by introducing a new flavour.

“Greggs is constantly evolving its product range with its customers in mind and blueberry is very much the fruit of the moment. We thought there is no better way to celebrate this delicious fruit than making it into a superstar doughnut and the feedback from people who have tried it has been fantastic.”

The vouchers (available from today) will be valid until 3 March.
