Twitter has acquired news aggregation service Summify two years after the company moved from its base in Romania to Vancouver.

The company made the announcement on its blog, which will see Twitter likely to integrate it service, that digests links through a user’s Twitter feed and turns them into a daily email highlighting the most relevant stories to them.

The service was launched last March.

“Our long-term vision at Summify has always been to connect people with the most relevant news for them, in the most time efficient manner. As hundreds of millions of people worldwide are signing up and consuming Twitter, we realized it’s the best platform to execute our vision at a truly global scale. Since Twitter shared this vision with us, joining the company made perfect sense,” the blog post explained.
