The editor of the Scottish Sun, the managing director of Global Radio Scotland and the chief executive of STV have agreed to discuss Glasgow’s position within the UK media industry next week.

Paul Cooney, managing director of Global Radio in Scotland, Rob Woodward, chief executive at STV and Andy Harris, editor of The Scottish Sun will feature as part of the Glasgow Talks event being hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.

The event, being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow next week, will hear all three offer their insight into the individual business sectors and discuss how they have adapted to the digital world.

Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Glasgow is uniquely placed and is home to all the major TV, radio and newspaper companies in Scotland. Indeed it is no accident that a significant amount of media activity is now concentrated in the media quarter along the River Clyde and the plan is for this cluster to grow.

“So this is a great chance for Glasgow businesses to learn of the changes taking place within the media sector and the many positive brand-building opportunities which new innovations can offer to firms.”

The event will take place on 25 January at Crown Plaza from 8am until 10am.
