A mobile site for Virgin Casino has been released by Virgin Games as a new offering to its customers.

Developed by Somo, the mobile site has been developed to promote the service using mobile media, using the company’s bespoke built gaming platform.

Virgin Games has implemented its single wallet system to allow players of the site to use their accounts to player Virgin Casino, Virgin Bingo and Virgin Poker, as well as the mobile casino.

The site has been launched to initially feature mobile games from Microgaming. Additional content suppliers will be introduced into the mobile casino in the future, currently featuring Thunderstuck and Tomb Raider slots from game developers Quick Fire.

Simon Burridge, CEO of Virgin Games, commented: “With Smartphone penetration now exceeding 40% in the UK, customers want and expect to be able to do on their phone what they do on their PC. With the launch of Virgin Casino Mobile we’re simply responding to this demand.

“While the gaming industry has been on the cusp of a mobile revolution for some time, 2011 has really been the year when the planets have aligned to make mobile gaming a more attractive proposition. For us we see it as the right time in the company’s life, the industry’s life and the technology is ready. It’s important for us as a company to follow the Virgin philosophy of being a customer-centric brand. We put customers at the heart of what we do and the mobile launch is yet another example of this. We can’t afford not to do this – it’s what our customers want and it’s where the online gaming industry is heading.”
