Media PR company Franklin Rae has been acquired by James Grant Group.

The acquisition is the seventh as part of the JGG growth strategy involving private equity partner Gresham, since the formation of the group two years ago.

Following the move, Franklin Rae will retain its name and branding, while also continuing to be based out of its offices on Clerkenwell.

Chris Rawlings, group brand director of the JJG, commented: “Our aim is to continue to develop JGG as a world class one-stop-shop, providing exceptional services to media, sports and entertainment clients across the globe. Franklin Rae’s position as a highly trusted PR adviser to some of the world’s most ambitious media and entertainment companies makes them not only a perfect fit in our growing portfolio, but a perfect strategic partner as our Group moves forward.

“Franklin Rae’s access to emerging markets like Asia and their involvement with the digital and technology sectors within media are particularly exciting for us as a business,” he added.

Jill Franklin, founder of Franklin Rae, added: “JGG is widely recognised as one of most highly respected groups in the business and we are thrilled to be part of their vision moving forward. For us, the synergies were obvious from the start – a passion for the business of media, a plan for international expansion and – more importantly – a cultural ethos which matches that of our own.

“JGG’s outstanding footprint in media, music and sports will enable us to further consolidate our position in those sectors, as well as build our presence in North America through their growing business there.”
