Cornwall Council is launching an online content module, created by Numiko, as part of a business engagement strategy to get local businesses on board with the Cornish Mining World Heritage site.

Numiko built a content module that can be easily integrated into business partner websites, following the agency creating the website for the Cornish Mining site earlier this year. Partners range from B&B’s to bicycle rental shops.

The aim of the module is to provide the business engagement partners with relevant, interesting and useful information from the Cornish Mining website. This is then embedded in the partner’s website to help customers and potential customers see the amount of activities available to them on Cornwall.

Emma Harvey, Numiko’s managing director, said: “Following the huge success of the consumer launch we were really pleased to be working on the business engagement strategy, as without buy in from the local tourism businesses, destination marketing efforts can never be truly successful.”

Malcolm Bell, head of tourism for Visit Cornwall, added: “The old saying was 'information is power'. In the digital world, the new truth is 'the distribution of information is powerful' and that is why the Cornish Mining widget is so important. This is exactly the kind of collaborative approach that destination marketing needs at a time of increased competition – well done.”
