The new offices for the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee have seen Tangent Graphic design the interior and exterior to incorporate the brand across the 108,000 square feet space.

Based in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, Tangent was briefed with creating an ‘inspiring, dynamic and exciting space’ which would reinforce the brand values for the Glasgow 2014 Games.

This led to the agency responding with a design that would reflect the ‘Athlete Centred, Sport Focussed’ ethos, alongside a naming strategy that was developed for the meeting rooms, with the Pictograms, also designed by Tangent, applied to each glass front of the rooms, using a frosted effect to offer privacy.

Each room has also been given a different coloured feature wall, while each floor is colour co-ordinated to assist wayfinding.

The boardroom is the only room to feature all 17 Pictograms within one room.

Andrew Stevenson of Tangent commented: “We were determined to make a statement with Commonwealth House – one that reinforced the ambition of the Organising Committee, their Athlete Centred, Sport Focussed ethos and reflect the scale of the event – the largest event in Scotland’s history. We are delighted with the outcome, and feel the space showcases Glasgow 2014 in as an international event of the highest calibre.”

Tangent worked with City Building, EVM and Space Solutions to ensure the highest quality production standards were achieved, on time and on budget,” he added.
