Ford teams with Instagram and Facebook for photo competition

Ford is teaming up with Instagram and Facebook to launch the #Fiestagram Photo Competition that will give photo fans across Europe a chance to win prizes including a new Fiesta.

The contest challenges Instagram photography enthusiasts to upload photos in a several categories inspired by the technologies and features of the Ford Fiesta. In each of the next six weeks, a new category (#Starting, #Hidden, #Listening, #Entry, #Music and #Shapes) will provide contestants with an opportunity to win in a prize, with the overall winner receiving a new Fiesta. Participants can interpret the categories in any way they wish and use any of the filters and effects available on Instagram to enhance the mood and feel of their images.

Running on the Ford Fiesta Facebook page, contestants can enter simply by uploading photos using the hashtag #Fiestagram on Facebook or the Instagram social network.

The competition will be judged by the Instagramers founder Philippe González, Ford’s head of social media, Scott Monty, and internationally renowned photographer James Day.

Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales and service at Ford of Europe, said: “We wanted to run a competition which would resonate with our Fiesta Facebook fans and the wider Instagram community.

“Instagram has grown from nothing to 150 million photos in just nine months and we are looking forward to the participants in the #Fiestagram Photo Competition contributing their creativity to the 1.3 million Instagram images uploaded per day.”
