The Young Scot charity has launched its new annual report on the blogging platform Tumblr.

In a first for Young Scot the annual report is only available online and features videos, audio clips and other digital tools to help communicate its work to stakeholders and partners "in a way which simply wouldn't be possible in print".

Visitors can read, listen and watch before sharing links, opinions and ideas in their own blogs, through their Facebook and Twitter accounts or connect to Young Scot’s new corporate website (www.youngscot.net).

Young Scot chief executive Louise Macdonald said: “At Young Scot we always aim to be as innovative and cutting edge in our work as we possibly can, and approaching our annual report in this way gives us the opportunity to use tools and technology that are ideal for communicating impact and information.

"We’re also aware that Annual Reports aren’t always the most readable or entertaining documents to read. We want ours to stand out so as many people as possible will read about all the positive work we’ve been undertaking with a range of partners, to help achieve the best possible outcomes for Scotland’s young people.”

The charity worked with Glasgow design and advertising agency Frame to bring the report to life.

Head of design Eilidh MacDonald said: "From a creative perspective, this gave us an exciting opportunity to bring key elements of the Annual Report to life, encouraging more interaction with readers through animation and participation.”
