Three South West companies are joining South West Screen at the Urban Futures trade mission in the Netherlands this week.

Bournemouth digital agency Red Web, and Bristol-based Team Rubber and Wonky Films are attending the second trade mission for the European Creative Business Network (ECBN).

The ECBN mission is bringing more than 70 European creative businesses and support organisations together at the PICNIC festival in Amsterdam to do business, exchange knowledge and explore the latest in creative industry developments.

The trade mission programme includes a two day innovation forum at PICNIC, focusing on developing new creative products and services. The forum will culminate in a pitching panel where two investors will commit at least €5,000 to progressing the best new product presented.

The aim of the ECBN, made up of an alliance of 11 European partners including South West Screen, is to establish the EU as a more accessible, effective and rewarding single market for cultural and creative entrepreneurs.

Following its inaugural summit in Essen, Germany last year, the ECBN’s first trade mission was hosted by South West Screen in Bristol in March this year. Amsterdam has now been chosen as the host city for the second trade mission.

Mehjabeen Price, acting CEO of South West Screen, said: “The trade mission we hosted in Bristol was a great launching pad for the ECBN, which helped companies make valuable connections to expand into Europe. South West Screen is just one of the many partners bringing delegate companies to Amsterdam, and we look forward to three very productive days.”
