UTV has restructured its creative teams working at its local radio stations.

The restructure follows a recruitment drive which saw three new creative writers appointed to sit alongside other creative talent, to ensure that each station has a writing resource.

Each of the writers will report to the station, as well as the group, to ensure a balance between local site work and the largest support structure.

The production team has also been centralised in Stoke and will be supervised by Chris Peace, who has been tasked with ensuring maxiumum efficiency, while also creating a centre of excellence for radio production.

Ivan Renhard has been made head of creative for Bradford, Louise Johnson will oversee creative and production in Stoke and Dave Monk has been appointed in oversee the creative hub in Liverpool.

Julian Carter, commercial director for the ILRs at UTV Radio, said: “In these tough times we’re committed to getting better results for clients and an effective creative department is essential to making campaigns work. Creative selling is critical to driving local revenue.”

The company's largest radio station, Talk Sport, has its own creative team and will be unaffected by the restructure.
