Manchester agency Fido PR has been appointed to promote a new music festival taking place in the North West town of Ramsbottom.

The Ramsbottom Festival takes place from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 September and will host performances from the likes Guillemots, Young Knives and Badly Drawn Boy.

It has been created as a partnership between three local, independent and creative organisations, Bury's live arts venue The Met, Don't Panic Event Management and Ramsbottomonline.com.

Forever Manchester will be the headline sponsor and all money generated from ticket sales will be put back into music-centred community projects.

Fido has been worked to generate advance ticket sales through a regional, national and social media campaign. It says it has already secured coverage on BBC 6Music, NME.com, Stylist and the Independent.

BBC Radio Manchester has been featuring live acoustic sessions from the festival's line-up and a media partnership has been established with the Bury Times which will see a 'festival diary' appear weekly.

Fido is now planning the launch of a Ramsbottom Festival ale, specially created by local artisan brewery Outstanding Beers.

Agency director Nancy Collantine said: "It's fantastic to be working on the PR for a music festival. Not only does this project appeal to our taste in music, it's also very much in line with our company values, with the profits being generated going back into supporting young people in the community."
