FA Cup opener to be shown on Budweiser Facebook page

The FA Cup opener will be shown on Facebook using a stream provided by Budweiser, the new sponsors of the tournament.

Although the stream will not reach the majority of its potential 700 million viewers, is the first of its kind anywhere in sport.

The game, on Friday night, is between non-league sides Ascot United and Wembley FC .

Ian Newell, Budweiser marketing director, said to PA: "As a long-standing supporter of football globally,Budweiser is committed to brining [sic] the world`s most prestigious knockout competition closer to the fans.

"What better way to demonstrate this than by broadcasting the very first kick to a global audience via Facebook.

"This is the first time a FA Cup tournament fixture has been broadcast live on the social network, which is great news for football fans and clubs alike."
