Retail design agency Green Room has appointed former GraphicoDMG creative partner Alex Weller as head of digital.

The newly-created role will see Weller develop the agency's digital design services.

Richard Ash, founder and chief executive, said: "“Clients increasingly want to introduce digital solutions into their retail environments but have frustratingly had to employ two separateagencies, often resulting in inconsistent and fragmented experiences.

"GreenRoom is now positioned to challenge the status quo."

Weller was a founding member of Graphico, the full service digital marketing agency acquired by the Digital Marketing Group for £8.6m in 2007. Graphico clients included Pepsi, Bacardi, First Great Western and London Eye.

He said: "These are amazing times for retail. The convergence of online and offline consumer touch points is gathering pace at an inextricable rate, posing a genuine opportunity for retailers equipped to embrace the challenge.

"My role is to guide clients through this maze of opportunities and deliver engaging, commercially viable and seamlessly merged digital and physical retail experiences.”
