Strathclyde police impressed with social media response to Glasgow riot plan
Strathclyde police is reported as being ‘very impressed’ with the social media response to the Facebook page set up to plan a Glasgow riot.
BBC’s Scottish political correspondent tweeted about the commendation for the public, after a Twitter campaign was set up to report the webpage, called ‘Let’s start a riot in Glasgow’.
The police have arrested a 16 year old in relation to starting up the webpage and aiming to incite violence.
They said that they had ‘no intelligence’ of violence being planned in the city for Friday, the day the Facebook page was aiming to start its riot.
