Piers Morgan responds to new phone-hacking claims, Jeremy Clarkson denies misleading Top Gear viewers and Duncan Bannatyne plots world domination for his new digital agency.

"To reiterate, I have never hacked a phone, told anyone to hack a phone, nor to my knowledge published any story obtained from the hacking of a phone."

CNN host and former Mirror editor Piers Morgan defends himself from fresh accusations of phone-hacking.

"They had to be low on charge once we arrived in Lincoln. That's how TV works."

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson responds to accusations that he misled viewers and did not give the Nissan Leaf electric car a fair road-test by deliberately draining its battery so it would get stuck in Lincolnshire.

"Clarkson is being more than a bit naughty. Of course, the role of TV is to be a catalyst for debate on issues from phone hacking to the Nissan Leaf. But in the wake of all the various TV scandals there are clear producers’ guidelines on accurate portrayal, fairness and providing a balanced range of opinions. This means you can’t stage things or make them up to suit the story you want to tell."

Former senior BBC executive Atholl Duncan tells Clarkson that's NOT how TV works.

"I’m looking to do something radically different with it. In truth I can’t divulge what the plans are, we are at a stage where we are in the process of concluding the deal and I expect to make an announcement soon."

Billy Anderson, who is leaving his role as managing director of GMG Radio to lodge a takeover bid of one of its stations, Rock Radio, reveals he will be taking Rock in a new direction should he be successful.

“It would be nice to hope that even our harshest critics could take a step back and look at the bigger picture, to stop their hectoring and begin to embrace a future that isn't London-centric. Of course, London will always remain central to our national Creative Industries, but good things can and are happening beyond the capital too."

Peter Salmon, the director of BBC North, responds to yet more criticism of the corporation's move to MediaCityUK in Salford, this time from the Sunday Times.

"Judging by the pre-planned squeals the media monkeys are making, Hearts has hit the point with the move."

In his own inimitable style, Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov hits back at the Scottish media for their criticism of his running of the club.

"The goal is to create the world’s best digital agency, nothing less."

Dragons' Den star Duncan Bannatyne outlines his lofty ambitions for his eponymous digital agency.
