Vauxhall is promoting its sponsorship of the home nations football teams in a retro Facebook campaign.

The page contains apps, such as allowing users to style themselves as iconic footballers from the 70s and 80s.

Richard Hennis, relationship marketing manager at Vauxhall’s parent company, General Motors, told new media age: “We want to engage with fans to show that Vauxhall knows what it means to be a national sports fan and that we understand football.”

As part of the campaign, Vauxhall is also launching ‘The Big Pitch’ competition, which asks football fans to describe how it would feel to walk on the pitch as part of their favourite team. Winners of the competition could get tickets to train at Wembley or watch the upcoming England v Holland game on 10 August.
