News Corp-owned publisher IGN Entertainment has appointed Chris Shepperson from Reader's Digest as its new head of entertainment.

Shepperson was formerly sales director at Reader's Digest and before that spent more than a decade with Bauer.

He will now be responsible "for building revenue and leading creative innovation across IGN's core entertainment sectors".

The publishing company, which is owned by News Corp, operates games website ign.com and men's lifestyle portal askmen.com.

Adam Hopkinson, commercial director at IGN Entertainment UK, said: "I’m delighted that Chris is taking this essential position in our newly expanded commercial team, as we position our brands for continued UK growth.

"With over a decade of experience at the highest level, Chris will take an important role in building our reputation for creative and engaging campaigns that deliver fantastic results.”

Shepperson's arrival follows that of Michael Hand, former head of digital for Men’s Health, who joined IGN Entertainment as its first head of consumer & lifestyle last month.
