Golley Slater has hired Anna Shackleton from McCann Erickson as its new PR director for Birmingham.

At McCanns Shackleton led PR campaigns for Sharpie, Parker and Waterman pens, the Camping & Caravanning Club, Touchwood shopping centre and Mercedes-Benz World.

In her new role, heading up Golley's consumer division, she will be charged with building on a client base which includes Skoda, The Army and JCB.

Developing the company's "growing online and social media offering" will also be a major part of her remit.

"Anna brings a wealth of consumer PR experience and a proven track record for developing bold, creative campaigns that deliver impressive results," said Golley Slater managing director, Tim Gearey.

Shackleton added: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at McCanns and it wasn’t an easy decision to leave. However, I was ready for new challenges and now look forward to contributing to future success at Golley Slater.”
