Twitter reported to have acquired TweetDeck for $40m
Twitter is understood to have agreed a $40m deal which will see it acquire TweetDeck.
According to CNN, the deal will be worth $40m in both cash and stock, although the social networking site has yet to confirm that it has been agreed.
TweetDeck, which aims to help Twitter users organise their accounts and messages, has been the subject of interest from both Twitter and rival company UberMedia, which was hoping to develop a platform to take on Twitter.
Meanwhile, according to Experian Hitwise, Twitter had its largest number of hits in the UK on Saturday as it became the subject of a legal case to name the users who had been defying a Super Injunction.
