VisitEngland launches iPhone app
Tourist board VisitEngland has launched a free iPhone application detailing visitor attractions and days out.
Created by mobile marketing company 2ergo, the 'Enjoy England' app comes with more than 1,000 suggestions of things to do and places to visit in England.
Each result comes with a Google Map location and users are encourage to pin their own suggestions on the interactive map.
Tim Holt, senior marketing manager at VisitEngland, said: "To remain competitive on the world stage we must ensure the quality of our visitor information online, via mobile technology, and in-destination is the best it can be. This is the start of a modernisation programme that will ensure visitors get the very best out of their trip in England.”
This 'modernisation programme' also includes the launch of a new Enjoy England website, which like the app features a wealth of suggestions of things to do and places to see.
