Lady Gaga has become the official queen of Twitter having amassed a macro fan base on the micro blogging service.

As of this morning some 10,050,061 (and counting) Twitter users were going gaga for the singers tweets, including such snippets as: “Good morning monsters! Couldn't sleep so excited for you to hear HAIR! I performed last night.”

Gaga, who refers to her followers as “monsters” crossed the landmark threshold whilst in London recording a performance for Radio 1.

Commenting on the feat she tweeted: “10MillionMonsters! I'm speechless, we did it! Its an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling.”

Gaga’s rapid ascent saw her reach 9m fans in March, having assumed the mantle of most followed celebrity from Britney Spears last August.

The star hasn’t got social media entirely wrapped up however, despite amassing 24m friends the starlet still has a way to go on Facebook where both Eminem and Texas Hold’em Poker boast larger fan bases.
