Apple marketing boss Simon Thompson departs

One of Apple’s top marketers, Simon Thompson, has left the company less than two years after taking up the role of Apple EMEA online store director.

It is not yet known if Thompson, who was previously European managing director and chief marketing officer of, has another job lined up. Neither is it known who will replace him.

Thompson’s tenure at the company covered the launch of the iPad, iPad2 and iPhone 4.
