With the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton set to dominate the media over the next few days, Lee-anne Salisbury is an associate director, channel planning at MediaVest Manchester takes a look at what to expect from the coverage of the event.

1) You may publicly deny it come Saturday but like billions of others, you’ll be glued to the set on Friday with global TV viewing expected to peak at 2.5bn

2) And with multi-screen viewing on a rapid incline, our favourite social networks will no doubt be a hive of activity with steam coming off keypads across the globe.

3) First to the finish post? With printing presses on overdrive who will get that winning shot into your hands first – If the Evening Standard do break the mould by printing on a bank holiday for the first time in 30 years, I would risk the £5 I have saved on not buying bunting to back them

4) Talking of bunting if you can’t get your hands on any - blame Pimms, rumoured to have shelled out £500k on bunting as part of a summer / Royal wedding ad campaign.

5) Finally, if you overindulge during the big event, be sure to have pre-ordered your commemorative wedding sick bag, designed by Lydia Leith and aptly named Throne Up http://www.lydialeith.com/
